Holistic counselling is a form of counselling focused on the entirety of an individual. Holistic counselling considers not only the mind, but also the body, spirit and how each of these elements interconnect. This type of counselling attempts to address an individual as a whole person rather than as someone who is sick, has psychological issues, or as being separated into different components of mental illness typography. Holistic Counselling is a type of therapy that address the “whole” person which integrates spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional forms of well-being.
The goal is to help individuals develop a deeper understanding of themselves on all levels.
Creative arts therapy is a specialized area of mental health that uses the integration of the arts and the creative process to explore emotions, reduce stress and anxiety, increase self-esteem, and resolve other psychological conflicts within oneself. It is a therapeutic approach utilizing many creative modalities within a therapeutic guided framework.
Creative Arts therapy can involve a variety of creative expressions including drawing, painting, colouring, pottery, sculpting, dancing, meditation, singing, drawing, playing, sand play, making music, situational role play and/ or theatrical role play. Using these techniques in therapy can be a way to achieve personal insight as well as healing and engaging in holistic techniques to relax and calm your inner self and help you to be present and overcome everyday life stresses.
Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state.
Meditation may be an ancient tradition, but it's still practiced in cultures all over the world to create a sense of calm and inner harmony. Although the practice has ties to many different religious teachings, meditation is less about faith and more about altering consciousness, finding awareness, and achieving peace.
There are many types of Meditations that can be used to help you calm and relax your body. We believe that each person needs to find what best suits them.
